During the period from 2007 to 2015, NIEH has initiated 190 and published 40 environmental health standards, initiated 64 and published 34 disinfection standards. NIEH also participated in developing the National Environment and Health Action Plan（2007-2015）.

The environmental health standards included the standard for drinking water quality, standard for public places, standard for health impact assessment, standard for width of sanitary protection zone and standard for rural sanitation, etc. Disinfection standards include the standard for disinfection-related products, standard for evaluation method of disinfection effect, application specification for field disinfection and related primary standards, etc.
